The Rongai Route is the only route that approaches from the northern side of the mountain providing unspoiled wilderness. It provides the easiest option and more similar to Marangu Route. If you are someone looking for climbing for the Kenyan side of Kilimanjaro then Rongai can be your option.

It’s an off-beaten track though but great for those who are looking for a crowd-free route to continue the trekking. Another element that makes the route a convenient one is the route experience lowest rainfall in compare to all other routes.

The off beaten track offers a great camping route. Your first stop will be at samba camp at an altitude of 2750m. From there you will traverse through Kikelewa Caves Mawenzi, Tarn camp, and few others that will take you to the top of Uhuru.
