Lemosho Route Trackers
The route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the west, at Londorossi Gate. From where you will head to Big Tree Camp (2780m) passing the dense rain forest. The next day your trailheads from Big Tree Camp to Shira Camp 2 crossing the Shira Plateau. On the third day of your trail, you will ascend to the Barranco Camp (3960m), along the route you will come across the Lava Tower and the Barranco Valley, where you can have a glimpse of Barranco wall and Western Breach. The next day you will tackle the mighty Barranco Wall as you ascend towards the Karanga Camp (4250m) for the night camp. The next day you will head towards Barafu Camp(4640m) after your breakfast, where you will rest before heading for the summit at midnight. The route is a steep rocky trail that takes you through Rebmann Glacier to achieve Hans Meyer Cave (5,150 m). From where you achieve the carter edge lastly the Stella Point (5740m). From where the summit at Uhuru peak is a short climb of around 150 m. After reaching the summit you will descent back to Mweka camp where you will dine and rest. The next morning after a good breakfast you continue your descent to the Mweka Gate, which is the end of your adventure. Here you will get your summit certificates from the park authorities.
